Chelsea wore this jersey in the Champions League final because of commercial pressure from adidas and no doubt their own accountants. The Blues had yet to win in the new shirt having only worn it once, in the 1-1 Premier League draw against Bolton Wanderers, and the superstitious amongst the Chelsea ranks wanted to wear the older jersey for the Champions League final in Moscow.
